Christian values are supported by sacred literature from the Holy Bible, which, if followed diligently, will provide valuable support and beneficial value to one’s life.
“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith, virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:5-8 (King James Version)
The Christian faith is one of integrity.
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, integrity is defined as the quality or state of being complete or undivided; a firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values: incorruptibility.
Christian values are supported by sacred literature from the Holy Bible, which, if followed diligently, will provide valuable support and beneficial value to one’s life. In today’s society, many times we are hammered with inconsistency of behavior, diminished care and capacity, deep-rooted conflicts, and conditional uncertainty that affects our day-to-day living. We reach and strive for meaning and purpose in this life groping for integrity in our dealings and faith to continue on. The Bible offers the advice and encouragement to look beyond our own selfish and desensitized ways towards a more reasoned alternative. As our scripture reading offers additions to our faith to become better at living life, so goes our ability to become better people in our communities, schools and nation.
During this season, faith will enable us to stand (2 Corinthians 1:24) and present an opportunity for us to resist the calamity that each day may offer. Our decisions can be more thoughtful and clear. We can exit conditions of pettiness, scorn, jealousy and revengeful thinking. We can embrace integrity in our dealings with our fellows, standing by word and deed (Colossians. 3:17). As we consider what this season represents and how it affects the lives of people around the world, we can be more prayerful and consistent with doing good.
