“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8

Love can be a miraculous healing balm to those who are heavy-hearted, down, depressed or lost in their own self identity.

Jesus used love as the ingredient that showed that we were his disciples. In the Holy Bible, John 13:35 states, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

Today, many people, even Christians, feel different regarding love and how it should be displayed. Some cannot get beyond the physical, sensual side of love. Others argue that a platonic love encourages emotional engagement without a commitment to physical application.

But most of us want a love that can nourish, sustain, support and build us into people who are compassionate, kind and wholesome individuals. This kind of love has a healing power that can preserve us from the depths of a sin-sick world where our senses are being bombarded daily with images of selfishness and apathetic attitudes.

With the dangers that our lives face today sharply displayed in the media and on the world stage, let us consider love as a serious solution to our problems. Love can transform the hardest heart or the lowest spirit into a warm, caring advocate for change given a proper chance or opportunity.

The Holy Bible, in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, specifically states that love never fails! To have something which is certain is truly a miracle.

We have become accustomed to disappointment because so many things in our lives are uncertain, but love is truly a miracle. It can be the healing balm for the death of a loved one, a curative for a serious illness, or traumatic loss. And, of course, a euphoric feeling of capturing a special and intimate moment when all of our hopes and dreams come together with that special someone.

To have love is to want to share love. It is a feeling, true, but so much more.

Let us open our hearts and let it in. We cannot limit our lives in fear and indecision. We must give love a proper chance and see it work a miracle in all that we do.
